Play Therapy at Replay

Play Therapy is grounded in well-established psychological theories, such as neurodevelopment and developmental psyxhology. It is widely recognized as an effective way to support children’s emotional wellbeing. Research highlights its impact, with studies showing that a significant majority of children experience positive change through this approach.

For children, play is not just recreation — it is their natural language and primary way of understanding the world. Through play, children express thoughts and feelings that they may not yet have the words for. Play Therapy provides a safe, supportive space where children can explore difficult experiences, process emotions, and make sense of what is happening in their lives.

This approach is particularly helpful for children aged 3 to 12 and can support a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, low mood, behavioral difficulties, grief, family changes such as separation or loss, and the impact of trauma.

At Rewire, our therapists work at the child’s pace, allowing them to lead the process in a way that feels safe and empowering. This child-led approach helps children develop resilience, improve emotional regulation, and build healthier ways of coping with life’s challenges.

Play Therapy can support children to:

  • Build confidence and self-esteem
  • Develop emotional awareness and regulation
  • Learn coping and problem-solving skills
  • Strengthen social skills and relationships
  • Reduce anxiety and behavioral distress
  • Process difficult or overwhelming experiences

We also recognize and support neurodiversity and trauma related issues. When children struggle with big emotions or feel overwhelmed, their behavior can sometimes be misunderstood. Through Play Therapy, we provide a space where children can gain a sense of control, understanding, and safety — helping them to thrive in their own unique way.

At Replay, we are committed to supporting each child’s individual journey, helping them feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow, as well as collaborativly supporting the parent through the process.
